Crow and followed your link. Just had to let you know how much I'm enjoying your stories. "Your Inheritance
and Two Boiled Eggs" was hilarious, and your piece,"Anna Nicole WhatsHerName," hit the nail right on the head.
When that was all over the news, my husband and I said practically the same thing! I'm now busy reading what you have to say about writing (Writers and Rebels = http://mississippicrow.com/_wsn/page14.html
- ) and I can really relate to it all. Thanks for the great reads...

Hinkelhuber For President (Short Story) - 11/9/2007 7:22:28 AM Excellent.
Very funny. A bit scary too, what if this was a real person? Although we have had actors in various levels of politics, all
the way up to the White House. Still very funny.

Your Inheritance and Two Boiled Eggs (Short Story) - 9/9/2007 9:54:53 PM It was clever
of the dad to just eat the two boiled eggs. An excellent write. Enjoyed the read.
Language in Culture - or The Other Way Around (Short Story) - 9/9/2007 9:43:54 PM Very amusing.
A humorous write. I even get kids knoching on the door to sell candy. Now, I wouldn't mind buying candy from children
to help the school. Except, I have to always explain to the kids and parents, that sometimes come with them, that I have two
grandchildren at the same school and about a half dozen boxes of the same candy inside.

A Gentle Man of Honor (Article) - 7/17/2007 7:55:37 AM a very cool
story and important message
Anna Nicole WhatsHerName (Article) - 7/1/2007 7:51:38 PM Wolf, I agree
that there are much more important issues the media should have been covering at the time. They paid far too much attention
to the ANS personal life; and not enough media attention was given to important news. Mary
Females Objectified (Article) - 7/1/2007 7:39:16 PM Well written.
Great article. Very interesting.
Sex Sells . . . So They Say (Article) - 6/18/2007 10:46:00 AM Commercials
use sex to sell just about everything. Sometimes it's confusing as to what they are selling. Very good write. I enjoyed
the last paragraph. Lol.
Sex Sells . . . So They Say (Article) - 6/11/2007 12:02:34 PM Very funny
Charley, thanks for making me laugh out loud. Come to think of it, I think half-naked use of MALE bodies is a highly under-used
advertising strategy. Shame. Rose
Death Watch - Memories (Article) - 6/11/2007 11:58:43 AM I'm sure
God-of-the-little-creatures is taking good care of your Tootsie. Sweet write. Rose
Sex Sells . . . So They Say (Article) - 5/17/2007 7:58:44 PM interesting
take on things--love the idea
Sex Sells . . . So They Say (Article) - 5/17/2007 5:37:13 PM Since the message
of these commercials is something like, "Buy our product and get this babe", I'm wondering if you have fewer
babes in your life with your boycott. ;-)
The Indulgence of Evil (Article) - 5/12/2007 4:17:21 PM thought provoking
write-i enjoyed reading and asking my own self some of those questions-good for the soul i think
Anna Nicole WhatsHerName (Article) - 4/6/2007 10:11:19 PM In regards to
the saga of the ever-ending media coverage...of ANS, it is time to let her rest along with all her baggage. Pray for the gracious
descent upbringing of the beautiful Danielle. Lets face it, we all are human, imperfect and have skeletons in our closets.
Remember that saying, perhaps your old-haired granny whispered to you, "Don't throw stones, no house is built out
of glass" Thanks for the article, writing is good for the soul. Loretta Scott www.gulfnurse.com
Anna Nicole WhatsHerName (Article) - 4/6/2007 2:17:04 AM In response to
this article, I have received a separate message from another author. Since I believe that opposing views communicated by
people with integrity, honor and courage should be heard, I am posting these messages here (unedited) in the interest of full
disclosure. Posted by Rose Loya (author) at 4/5/2007 9:39:03 AM Have you ever been in foster care? Or known someone who has?
Have you ever been so close yet so far from someone who was as far beyond help as Anna was? Or loved someone like Anna because
perhaps she was your daughter, your sister or you mother? Do you understand that kind of pain, born out of familial bond?
I too am sickened by the redundant and exploitive coverage of everything from her lovers to her poor little girl, but the
woman DID die. Is nothing sacred? You, sir, have taken part, by writing the typical "Anna" article, in exploitive
and utterly insensitive commentary, just like everyone you bash. Rose Posted by C Wolf Forrest (author) at 4/5/2007 12:01:44
PM Dear Rose Loya: Your comments are sincerely appreciated and I am happy to hear the other side of it. But, and there are
several of those, we all have our own very hurtful and negative experiences growing up and I would not like to think that
such non-loving influences doom us to become shallow exploitive persons. Yes, she DID die, from an overdose of drugs, which
I suppose could be a defense mechanism to all the things you talk about. I do object that ANS is now portrayed as an icon
she never was, living her life as a Mother Theresa, rather than being honestly portrayed as being a doped up addict who would
slur her words and who, at times, could barely speak a coherent sentence. If she did not have money to pass on, who would
care about THAT baby in the scheme of things you speak about? If it is okay with, I shall post your comment on the website
since I am always in favor of opposional views to be heard. Finally, could you please explain your final comment "just
like everyone you bash." I cannot recall having bashed anyone yet, although I would not be surprised if I may do so in
the future. Sincerely, C Wolf Forrest Posted by Rose Loya (author) at 4/5/2007 3:13:40 PM Hi C Wolf Forrest: First of all,
thank you for your considerate response. I admire the way you handled my comment. The question about the baby, or THAT baby.
With all due respect, do you have any children? I have two and as a mother I can tell you exactly who cares about that little
girl. Her father. It's really none of anybody's business WHO he is but judging by the pictures, I'd say it's
the photographer. Wouldn't it be heroic though, of whomever her father is, for him to say no to the money? Would you?
I know people who have. I know people who have walked away from million dollar homes with only the clothes on their backs
and THEIR babies. But since I only know three, I think it's safe to say that it doesn't happen too often. With the
"price-tag" of that elusive inheritance it WOULD seem as though everyone around the little girl is there for the
money. But I can't help but think that the tragic example set by her mother has possibly set in motion purer intentions
from those around her, especially her father. Oh, the "bashing" would include the judge, the media, Court TV and
"this Bahamian judge". Maybe "bash" wasn't the correct word, I don't know, but I don't really
care, as I am disgusted by the all-around lack of compassion and sensitivity when it comes to this woman's death. Rose
Posted by Rose Loya (author) at 4/5/2007 5:04:51 PM Hi C Wolf Forrest: Thanks again for your diplomatic response. I don't
always handle opposing views with such grace, but in the future I will try to follow the example you set. Again, thank you.
Sincerely, Rose
Anna Nicole WhatsHerName (Article) - 4/5/2007 10:23:04 AM Amen!!
Here Come the Chics . . . . (Article) - 4/2/2007 10:20:44 AM This is so right-on.
Certainly much of the current crop of sitcoms (and many reruns)foster this chick-Barbie mindset designed to drill itself into
our brains when we are in a semi-coscious state in front of the TV set, but that is another essay. Charley, this is great,
you'll be hearing from me and...you know what THAT means :-)
Here Come the Chics . . . . (Article) - 4/2/2007 8:27:13 AM Normally I read
and continue on without making any comments, however this essay deserves comment. You, sir, have hit the nail on the head
as far as I am concerned. Being the mother of two girls and one son myself, it was a battle getting them raised. The world
does set two different standards. I have never liked a lot of the chicky man-bashing that television and media put out there.
Thank goodness my three darlings (sometimes) have grown into decent, loving people. Hopefully the next generation will keep
themselves covered in public and will learn that men (my personal favorite) and women can indeed be friends and work together
equally in the raising of decent children.
